Fleet Safety Lane by Jeremy Croft — practical insight on trucking safety, compliance, risk, and operations

Make fleet safety clearer, more practical, and more useful.

Fleet Safety Lane helps motor carriers and safety professionals look beyond paperwork and understand the operational decisions, habits, and weak points that create risk.

The goal is not to add noise or repeat regulations. It is to translate experience into guidance people can use—to prevent crashes, improve accountability, and build safer operations.

One career. Three views of fleet safety.

I have spent more than 20 years working in commercial motor vehicle safety—as a State Trooper conducting roadside enforcement, an FMCSA Safety Investigator evaluating carrier operations, and an insurance safety professional helping fleets recognize risk earlier.

Those roles taught me that a regulation can identify a problem, but it rarely tells the whole story. Fleet Safety Lane is where I share the lessons behind the rulebook in plain language.
